Make Space For Your Own Wisdom

The most clarifying part of moving is letting go of the belongings, the dreams, and the ideas that no longer serve us. It's a relief to give away the yarn that was supposed to become a scarf and accept that becoming a knitter isn't really a priority. When we clear out these things, we’re giving ourselves an opportunity to get more clear on our priorities and we're opening ourselves up to new opportunities.

We lived in our previous home for 11 years. Although we did a lot of decluttering and simplifying over the years, it was very cleansing for us to go through all of our belongings with more discernment and embrace a deeper letting go. With a big move, it was easier to be honest with ourselves about what it was time to let go of and what was important to keep.

Being surrounded by the chaos of too many belongings is so distracting and burdensome (cue the guilt that flares up every time you see the yarn that was supposed to become a scarf). We let our attention be divided among so many things that we can't allow ourselves the stillness to hear our own wisdom regarding how to take care of ourselves.

The simplicity of having less stuff has allowed us to be more open to new possibilities and desires, but most importantly the simplicity has allowed us to make space to hear our own wisdom.

Where can you downsize in your life and open up the space to hear your own wisdom?

Well wishes,
Sara
